New York City is opening up indoor dining to 35 percent, starting this month. But for those New Yorkers who are still cautious, we put together a list of restaurants that have heated outdoor dining.
Here’s a list of Brooklyn restaurants that follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
Bed Stuy Restaurants with Outdoor Dining
Chez Oskar – 310 Malcolm X Blvd
This established French bistro has set up covered dining areas with heaters for customers. Enjoy some steak frites or stop by for happy hour where cocktail prices drop as it gets colder.
With plentiful heated seating in their front patio and backyard, Mekelburg’s offers a wide selection of seasonal drinks and 25 cent wings on Sunday and Monday. Make sure to check out their website for their weekly specials.
Peaches HotHouse – 87 S Elliott Pl
NYC fried chicken hotspot, Peaches HotHouse, now offers single-party glass cabins, each with their own electric heater to keep guests warm. Enjoy their famous Nashville-style hot chicken and crispy shrimp from the comfort of your own glass cabin.
Bushwick Restaurants
Home to some of the city’s best pizza, their acclaimed outdoor tiki garden is now heated and open for service from 11am-10pm.
With new heated and covered outdoor seating available, this recently opened Thai restaurant is known for their signature small plates. Make sure to heed the owner’s advice and pair your small plates with a drink from their extensive collection of Thai beer and cocktails.
Although their brunch services are temporarily closed, customers can enjoy “Otis Outdoors” in their heated and covered garden with a large selection of drinks and warm foods from 5-10pm Wed-Sun.
Home to some of New York’s best sourdough pies, Ops now offers seating outside under a heated and tented area.
Sunset Park
Brooklyn Kura is home to some of NYC’s best sake, which can now be enjoyed in their scenic courtyard equipped with heat lamps and firepits. After drinking your warm sake alongside some charcuterie, make your way to Industry City’s outdoor ice-skating rink for some winter fun.
Maria’s Bistro Mexicano – 886 5th Avenue
Currently working to create an even larger winter-proof dining space, Maria’s is home to an outdoor dining cabin with electric heaters and TVs. In addition to their famous tacos, customers can warm up with some of their signature soups.
Sahadi’s Industrial City – 34 35th Street Bldg 4, Suite 04-1-B12
This award-winning, Middle Eastern market offers heated and tented outdoor seating in the food hall’s courtyard.
Williamsburg
Talk Story Rooftop – 160 N 12th St
Open 3pm-11pm Everyday
Located on top of the McCarren Hotel, this location is temperature controlled and equipped with a robust heating system for the winter. This tropical cocktail bar offers skyline views and globally-inspired cuisine from South East Asia, South America, the Caribbean and beyond.
Ten Hope offers fresh, Mediterranean inspired cuisine in their relaxing, heated outdoor garden.
Known for their famous weekend brunch at 11am, Ainslie offers ample outdoor heated seating, both on their large sidewalk and rooftop. Customers can also enjoy their beer garden and heated sidewalk cafe that are open 7 days a week.
TailGate Outdoor Sports Bar – 86 N 11th St
A newcomer to Williamsburg, this outdoor sports bar has built 20 private cabanas, each equipped with a space heater and widescreen TV where diners can enjoy food truck foods and beer. Make sure to look out for their weekly Monday viewings of the Bachelor!
Another newcomer to Williamsburg, Kokomo has transformed its streetside location into a heated dining escape. Customers will be immersed in a multi-sensory dining experience guided by sophisticated Carribean cuisine.
Home to one of America’s best dishes of the year, the pomelo crab salad, Bolero offers guests an immersive dive into all things Việt Nam. Come enjoy your meal in their backyard tea garden, now providing tableside heat lamps and an overhead tarp to keep you warm throughout your dinner.
