This is exciting news for anyone who has asked, when will this COVID end?
Dr. Marty Makary wrote an op-ed in today’s Wall Street Journal, predicting we could be nearing the end of COVID. He went as far as saying we could see herd immunity by April.
Makary isn’t just any doctor. He’s a professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He makes the argument roughly 15 percent of the country has already received one dose of the vaccine, and more than 28 million Americans have already been infected with the coronavirus. Between these two groups, Makary says her immunity is closer.
“As more people have been infected, most of whom have mild or no symptoms, there are fewer Americans left to be infected. At the current trajectory, I expect Covid will be mostly gone by April, allowing Americans to resume normal life,” he wrote in the editorial.
Let’s hope he’s right.
