New Affordable Housing Lottery Opens in Bed Stuy

Bed Stuy is getting a new affordable housing complex and the lottery to get inside is underway.

The affordable housing building is located on Fulton between Albany and Troy at 1620 Fulton Street. The housing complex will have 94 units and 11 floors.

The site previously was home to a deli and a gym. There was also a laundry mat that were all demolished by 2018.

The new housing complex will have a gym, child care center and bike storage. There will also be retail stores and a community facility on the ground floor. There will also be an outdoor recreation area on the second floor with the residential floors above that.

How do you Apply for Affordable Housing Lottery

To qualify for the lottery, New Yorkers will need an annual incomes of $25,372 to $184,200 for households of one to five people.

Monthly rents for these apartments will start at $667 and go up to $2741. The building will have 24 studios, 42 one-bedrooms and 28 two bedroom units available for the affordable housing lottery.
